Travel-Inspired Creativity
In my body and soul, I am a traveler. I love the idea that everything is journey; that everything is discovery, surprise and wonder, only when the eyes and the heart are wide-open can we truly explore the world around us!
And when traveling, if a problem arises on the journey it has happened for a reason; to find a solution.
Adaptability and Openness
Above all, don't stay #old. Sometimes, you also need to let yourself be guided by the winds and to know how to change course.
So like everything, my way of creating is obviously also a journey. I never stop to discover, to experience, to feel.
And as in any journey, there are immense joys but sometimes also disappointments and failures which are necessary to learn from and evolve, but also so that the ego remains in its rightful place!
Artistic Influence
I let myself be inspired by everything around me, but mainly by the trips that we took as a family. I have always been amazed to see that art is everywhere around us, and in all cultures.
Thai coach drivers are true masters in the art of decorating their vehicle, and often with a lot of humour. It's really the one example that stands out the most to me. And it's the same with trucks in India, jeepneys in the Philippines and many others.
Unique Personal Traits
I take with me a toolkit of skills on all my life journeys:
- Dyslexia, which is a gift for me
- Torrents of sensitivity
- The art of being passionate about everything
- The pleasure of appreciating, of taking the time, of savouring
- Constant questioning
- The desire to see the positive in everything, even in the worst moments
These ingredients brought me to who I am now and they will continue to guide me in the future.
Personal Workshop in Aljezur
And then one day, one of our trips took us to Aljezur. And we never left! We fell in love with this place, calm and magnificent, where some days the sound of the waves comes to us. Here we have created the workshop of my dreams:
My Workshop! It is a space where I can spread out with my pots of paint, my brushes and no longer invade my family.
